2010.8.17New catalysts to cut CO poisoning of fuel cells - Scientists in the US and Japan have developed new nanoparticle catalysts which can reduce carbon monoxide poisoning of fuel cells.
The catalyst is made from tungsten added to nano particles of titanium dioxide. The catalyst is then coated with platinum to make the electrode.

2010.8.17FirstEnergy buys Ballard 1 MW mobile fuel cell systemCanadian-based Ballard Power Systems will shortly put a 1 MW mobile PEM fuel cell power plant into operation with utility company FirstEnergy in Ohio. The system will be housed in a large trailer, similar to a semi-tractor trailer, allowing it to be moved easily to different locations.

The JU publishes annual calls for proposals (from 2008-2013), on the basis of which funding is granted for research, technological development and demonstration projects.
